Wool is a natural fibre — warm, resilient and long-lasting. Quality wool carpet in a bedroom can look good for twenty years or more. Synthetic is less expensive, more stain-resistant, and a practical choice for children's rooms and rentals. Wool-blend (80/20) gives most of the performance of pure wool at a lower price.

Underlay is what the carpet rests on. Cheap underlay compresses within a few years — once flat, the carpet has no cushioning and wears at twice the rate. A quality underlay extends the life of the carpet significantly.

Power stretching uses a lever-action tool that spans the room and pulls the carpet tight before locking it onto the gripper rod. A knee-kicker alone does not stretch the carpet sufficiently — within a few years it relaxes, loosens and forms bubbles. We power-stretch every room.

Yes — including curved, winder and turned stairs. Stairs require gripper rod at every nosing and clean riser-to-tread transitions. We price stairs separately in the quote so you can see exactly what each element costs.

Yes in most cases. We check floorboards at the survey for squeaks, loose sections and structural concerns. Any issues are fixed before the underlay goes in — a noisy board that is carpeted over without fixing will still creak through the carpet.
