Most bathrooms that fail
weren't badly tiled. They were badly waterproofed.
Full bathroom installation — proper tanking, plumbing, electrics and tiling under one contract. Every wet zone pressure-tested before we close the walls, because that's when it matters.
Four types of bathroom. The waterproofing standard never changes.
A compact cloakroom gets the same tanking as a full wet room. The size of the job doesn't determine how seriously we take the waterproofing.
Full Bathroom Suite
Complete strip-out and refit. Bath, basin, WC, shower, tiling, plumbing, electrics, heated towel rail. One contract, one timeline, one bill.
Most commonWet Room
Properly tanked and sloped wet-room floor with linear drain, walk-in shower and full tiling. Every wet zone treated to BS 8000-11 — not paint-on waterproofing.
Fully waterproofEn-suite
Compact en-suites in tight spaces, including structural work where required. We design around what the room can accommodate, not what the showroom assumes.
Space-efficientCloakroom
Basin, WC, tiling and accessories in a half-day or one-day scope. Fast turnaround without cutting corners on waterproofing or finish.

The six things that separate a bathroom that holds for twenty years from one that fails in three.
Each of these is a specific point of failure we've seen in bathrooms that came to us for remedial work. We fix them at the start, not after you've already had the tiles off twice.
Properly tanked, not just painted
Schlüter and Mapei waterproofing systems on every wet zone — the industry standard, not the £30 paint-on alternative.
3-week typical from strip to snag
A full family bathroom in 15 working days. We'll tell you the exact timeline in the quote.
Pressure-tested before closing
Every plumbing connection pressure-tested before we tile over it. If something fails, we find it while there's still access.
Heritage-aware tiling
Victorian and Edwardian properties handled with care. We work around original tiling and period details wherever possible.
The thing most fitters skip is the thing that decides whether a bathroom lasts.
Paint-on waterproofing is the industry's open secret: cheap, fast, and not rated for permanent wet exposure. We use Schlüter Kerdi membrane and Mapei Mapelastic on every wet zone — the same systems used in commercial wet rooms. The cost difference per job is about £80–150. The failure-rate difference is significant.
Six steps from survey to signed-off bathroom.
Survey & specification
A senior plumber visits to assess the existing plumbing layout, soil stack position and floor loading. We flag any structural concerns and advise on what's achievable within the space before quoting.

Bathroom fitting questions, answered.
Yes — Part P certified and NICEIC registered. Every bathroom installation includes a full electrical certificate. This is a legal requirement and we never skip it.
The cheap option is a paint-on waterproofing product — it costs £30 and works fine on minor moisture exposure. We use Schlüter Kerdi membrane or Mapei Mapelastic systems, which are the same products used in commercial wet rooms. The cost difference is about £80–150 per job. The failure rate difference is significant.
Yes — properly drained, tanked and sloped wet-room floors with linear drains. The floor needs to fall to the drain at the right gradient (typically 1:80) and the entire area needs to be waterproofed to the same standard as a swimming pool surround. We do it correctly.
Both. We have accounts with most UK bathroom suppliers and can source to your specification. Or if you've already chosen a suite from CP Hart, Bathstore or elsewhere, we'll fit it. We do ask to see the technical specification before quoting.
Yes — it's the majority of our work. Original tiling, period-style fittings, cast-iron baths, unusual floor and wall configurations — we've handled all of it. We'll tell you honestly at the survey if anything is a genuine constraint.
A standard family bathroom is typically out of full use for 5–7 working days — you can usually use the WC throughout the main phase. We'll give you a specific day-by-day programme in the quote so you can plan around it.
You can supply your own tiles or we'll source them. We have accounts with Porcelain Superstore, Tile Giant and specialist stone suppliers. We'll advise on format size and layout to suit the room at the survey.
Yes — issued before we leave site, covering all workmanship. The NICEIC electrical certificate and plumbing pressure-test record are both provided. If a tile lifts, a seal fails or a fitting leaks, we come back.
